Each
year, the Trans NH Bike Ride dedicates the ride to an individual who is
living with Muscular Dystrophy. These individuals inspire everyone who
participates in this ride, in who they are and through what they endure.
For those who don't have a personal connection with MD through a family
member or friend who is affected, these dedicatees provide a personal
face to this difficult disease.
Although every very rider comes in with their own motivations for the
ride, it is safe to say that the examples of courage shown every day by
those with MD has fueled many of us through long and difficult days of
wind, heat and rain. Our temporary pain and discomfort pale in the face
of what they have to deal with day in and day out.
We have had the good fortune of riding with family members of our
dedicatees, their friends and in a very special case, one of the
dedicatees himself. Their sprit and inspiration, and our desire to help
find a cure for this difficult disease, is what keeps those who ride
Trans NH coming back year after year.
